Design. From 10 to 19 September, Paris Design Week 2026 takes over iconic districts such as Le Marais, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Opéra and Bastille, activating galleries, showrooms, schools and heritage spaces across the capital. Born as a spin-off of Maison & Objet, it’s arguably grown into the month’s most influential fixture on the design calendar — and this year’s edition doesn’t disappoint.

Virtuoso of wood and form Joseph Walsh is this year’s guest of honour at Paris Design Week 2026, taking over the orangery, gardens and main courtyard of the Hôtel de Sully. His ash sculptures curve and coil against gravity itself. “I wanted to confront free movement with the perfect geometry of the Hôtel de Sully,” he explains — 5 Place des Vosges, Map.

Over at the Hôtel de Rohan Archives Nationales, Maison Parisienne has handed the reins to Pierre Renart, who’s carved poetic urban furniture from Moabi wood, drawing on the garden’s scrollwork. You don’t just look at it; you sit inside its logic – 11 rue des quatre Fils, Map.

Uchronia’s Julien Sebban fills the Rotonde d’Antin at the Grand Palais [Map] with Le Grand Bouquet — a floral-inspired installation that plays off the venue’s historic décor. Part architecture, part immersive set design, it unfurls a spectacular bloom that steers the eye through the space. French craft houses lent a hand in bringing it to life – proof that Paris Design Week 2026 isn’t afraid of theatre.

Jeremy Pradier-Jeauneau‘s La Tempête – The Storm, in French – sends visitors on an immersive climb from base to summit of the Arc de Triomphe, offering a fresh read on the monument’s history and architecture along the way – Place Charles de Gaulle, Map.

Claire Renard and Jean-Sébastien Blanc wrap the July Column at Place de la Bastille [Map] in La Re-prise de la Bastille, an installation stitched entirely from clothing recovered through Refashion‘s recycling network, with the Festival du Monde. It leans into the site’s revolutionary weight to make a plain argument for textile reuse — activism dressed as sculpture.

Curated by Catherine Lurault and An KangEun, Hanjimania brings traditional Korean hanji paper into conversation with French design at the Hôtel de la Marine, with contributions from Studio KO, Pierre Yovanovitch, Constance Guisset, Aline Asmar d’Amman, Jérémy Pradier-Jeauneau and Harry Nuriev, alongside Korean artisans – 2 Place de la Concorde, Map.

Running from 9 to 27 September in the Cour de l’Intendant, Antoine Tauvel of Maison Lacmé also unveils an Art Car reworked with leather, porcelain, onyx and lacquer — a total work of art on four wheels.

At the Hôtel de Soubise, Johanna de Clisson populates the garden with a dozen white stoneware planters in Sculpture/Landscape: New Figures of the French Garden, riffing on the formal French garden tradition while conversing with the site’s classical architecture – 60 Rue du Franc-Bourgeois, Map.

Spread across four venues in Le Marais district, Paris Design Week Factory remains the springboard for collectible and emerging design. Espace Commines showcases the work of around forty exhibitors, aiming to break free from labels (design, art, craftsmanship, etc.) and leave room for creativity – 16 rue Commines, Map.

116 rue de Turenne [Map] pairs up-and-coming names via curators Jean-Baptiste Durand and Simon Geringer. At 16 rue des Minimes [Map], established designers and publishers come together; and at 10 rue de Turenne [Map], Le China Creative Pavilion‘s BON GOÛT! GOOD TASTE! explores taste — sensory and aesthetic — across cultures.

Running 9 to 27 September, Anthony Guerrée‘s parcours at Musée Bourdelle responds to Antoine Bourdelle’s sculptures through wood, glass, textiles and mixed clay. His collaboration with the Fornace Brioni manufactory extends into the museum garden with outdoor pieces – 18 rue Antoine Bourdelle, Map.

Marking ten years, Galerie SCÈNE OUVERTE celebrates its forward-looking vision in collectible design and ceramics. Highlights include Vincent Dubourg‘s aluminium mirror-sculptures, KRJST Studio‘s embroidered tapestries, and work by Caroline Desile and Studio Biskt that blurs sculpture into architecture – 13 Rue Bonaparte, Map.

Rounding things out, Paris’s textile scene gets its own route. Pierre Frey opens a new furniture-dedicated space at 14 rue du Mail [Map], featuring pieces by Garnier & Linker, Studioparisien, Christian Haas, and Elisabetta Freda.

For the first time, House of Cassandre opens its showroom at 29 boulevard Raspail [Map], combining sculptural textiles, natural pigments, objects, and olfactory curation. Élitis presents its new collections of wall coverings and textiles within a setting by Ombre Studio – 5 rue Saint-Benoît [Map]. The textile and wall-covering brand CMO invites you to discover its natural fibre-based collection at 38 Rue Jacob [Map].
