Design. Running from 10 to 12 June across eight districts — from the stately Kongens Nytorv to the harbourside energy of Nordhavn — 3DaysOfDesign 2026 anchors its edition around the theme Make this Moment Matter. Rather than looking backwards or forwards, the festival makes a quiet case for the present, and for design that carries genuine purpose.

Iittala marks 90 years of its iconic Aalto vase with a seven-metre architectural pavilion designed by TABLEAU CPH. Built from low-carbon aluminium by Hydro, the structure lands on Copenhagen’s waterfront as a public landmark that weaves together design heritage, material innovation and contemporary architecture. At its heart, the Finnish brand also unveils a limited-edition Aalto City Vase, drawing inspiration from six cities: Berlin, Amsterdam, Tokyo, New York, Helsinki and Copenhagen – [Ofelia Plads, Kvæsthusbroen, Map].

The Danish Architecture Center hosts THIS IS NOT A FOREST, a sensory installation by Arcival and Dinesen that traces wood’s journey from forest to built form. Visitors pass through a constructed timber landscape shaped by light, sound and scent — the last developed by Studio Pneuma — while the exhibition asks how a closer understanding of wood’s value chain and craft might support more responsible approaches to architecture – [Bryghuspladsen 10, Map].

Material Matters, the platform for sustainable design innovation, is back in Copenhagen with 19 international exhibitors working across wood, glass, textiles, waste, bacteria and rice husks, among others. Dutch studio AI Fungi looks at mycelium-based composites for furniture and lighting; Crafting Plastics! and Studio LoopLoop tackle biomaterials, plant-based colouring and low-impact production. The fair’s host venue, Ukraine House in Denmark, presents eight Ukrainian manufacturers navigating the territory between industry, craft and functional art – [Strandgade 27B, Map].

Following a successful Milan edition, Deoron—the design and lifestyle platform and creative community—lands at Papirøen, the Tadao Ando-designed island once home to paper storage warehouses [Papirøen 21, Map]. A striking post-industrial backdrop frames more than 50 independent designers and brands, presenting collections across fashion, furniture, and home accessories. Sound takes centre stage: Alephalef’s portable speakers blur the boundaries between hi-fi fidelity and club culture. Listening sessions and events ensure the space resonates well beyond the exhibits.

At Papirøen 5 [Map], the Design Starts on Paper exhibition presents Max Lamb‘s Min Chair for Hem — a solid-pine seat pared back to its most essential architectural gesture: primitive, refined, and quietly graphic in silhouette. Curated by MBSY Lab with support from Porsche and Aarke, the show also features acoustic innovator BAUX and lighting studio BLOND, framing how contemporary design emerges through conversation, experimentation and spatial enquiry.

VÆRKTØJ — Danish for ‘tool’ — enters its third edition under designer Trampedach, alongside Frederik Gustav, Kasper Salto and Michael Antrobus. The premise is simple: each project in the show is made using the same tool. This year, that tool is the sewing machine. Contributors include Erwan Bouroullec, Foster + Partners Industrial Design, Pearson Lloyd, and others. “VÆRKTØJ 3 invites visitors to consider the often invisible influence of tools and how they shape a designer’s identity,” [Gothersgade 30, Map].

After a year away, independent platform Ukurant returns to 3DaysOfDesign 2026 with 26 experimental takes on craft, material and tradition, housed at the former factory Fabrikken for Art & Design [Sundholmsvej 46, Map]. Curated by Kasper Kyster, Josefine Krabbe, Kamma Rosa Schytte and Lærke Ryom, the exhibition puts process front and centre. Standouts include Controforma’s Zenit — a meditation on light, material and gravity — and Bae Subin’s Wood Welding Chair, crafted entirely from burnt poplar.

Bread and butter make the perfect pair — and from that starting point, curators Hee Choi, Myung Nyun Kim and Pyeori Jung invited 12 designers to explore the rituals of bathing through their own perfect pairings. “More than a hygienic act, bathing rinses off fatigue, clears the mind, and creates space to carry on with the day,” the Bread & Butter curators explain. “From Danish harbour bathing to Japanese onsens, we move quietly along the boundary between self and others.” Sixteen designers bring their own routines and cultural references to the brief – [Sankt Peders Stræde 35A, Map].

“Sound shapes how we move, where we pause, and how we relate to furniture, light and materials,” believe at Fritz Hansen. During 3DaysOfDesign 2026, the Danish company presents the Sound Club installation, exploring how “Sound plays a direct role in how we experience space.” Japanese audio brand Technics anchors two distinct listening environments. Alongside them, a convivial listening bar brings together limited-edition KAISER idell™ lamps, Technics turntables and Fritz Hansen’s Bauhaus-inflected furniture – [Løvstræde 5, Map].

Someone suggested that Copenhagen competes with Milan in design-week terms. Two different things, we believe. Danish company Fredericia might agree, as they bring home their successful Milanese exhibition, A Chronicle of Danish Design, celebrating over a century of design-making. The showcase brings together archive materials and contemporary designs, including furniture by Børge Mogensen, Nanna Ditzel, Mogens Koch, Cecilie Manz and Barber Osgerby – [Løvstræde 1, Map].

Helle Mardahl found her brief in Candy Crush and Tetris — specifically their geometry, repetition and saturated colour. The GAME ON exhibition translates that into mouth-blown glass lights that stack, interlock, and catch the light at odd angles. “Each piece is a move in the game. Bold shapes lock together, colours pop, and a world of odd dimensions, reflections and light unfolds” – [Bredgade 17, Map].

Six editions in, Framing has earned its setting. The group exhibition spreads across all three floors of the Odd Fellow Palace — a Rococo building from the mid-1700s at Bredgade 28 [Map] — and spills into the adjacent Harsdorff House at Kongens Nytorv 5 [Map]. Forty Danish and international brands share the indoor and outdoor spaces, among them Stellar Works, Brokis, Magis and String Furniture.

Electrical wall-accessories brand 22 System and Crosby Studios have built the Plug-It installation around a mirrored composition of the new multicoloured Bleu Connecté sockets. Visitors plug things in and engage directly with the system; the artwork shifts. It’s a piece that only exists in use — and a quiet provocation about how we power and reconfigure the spaces we inhabit – [Kronprinsessegade 11, Map].

Someone has been asking Jaime Hayon a question his whole life: “Jaime, what are you doing?“ It was his mother. Now, in collaboration with Danish brand St. Leo — paint, furniture, lighting — the Spanish designer turns that quiet, recurring phrase into an exhibition. The title carries her voice; the work carries her absence. Conceived as a tribute following her passing, the show is less a design statement than a meditation on how love shapes what we make, and why we make it – [Trelleborggade 5, Map].

+Halle® has rethought its showroom as a deli — efficient, informal, good for short stays and casual encounters. New work by Fengfan Yang, Jamie Wolfond Studio, Krøyer-Sætter-Lassen and Form Us With Love, served alongside food and drinks. The Fogia Bookstore, created with Copenhagen publishing house Le Petit Voyeur, is the kind of place 3DaysOfDesign 2026 needs more of — somewhere to slow down. Furniture and books don’t have an obvious common language, but both start as ideas and get better with time, [Sølvgade 5, Map].
