Californian start-up Aptera presented an ultra-efficient, two-seat, and three-wheeled electric vehicle that does not need fuel or charging. The “production-ready” car is covered in solar panels, which, according to the company, can generate enough energy to drive up to 40 miles daily, the average American daily commuting distance. An EV battery allows you to travel up to 400 miles on a single charge for longer drives. Read more…

Smart vacuum cleaners can achieve astonishing performances, but it often takes a sock, a toy or a pair of shoes left in the middle of the floor to halt them. The new Roborock Saros z70 is equipped with a mechanical arm that can pick up and remove obstacles. Thanks to an AI-driven recognition technology, the vacuum cleaner identifies each object and moves it where it belongs: socks in the closet, sandals toward the entrance rug, and crumpled paper in the trash. Paper batteries

Flint, a Singaporean startup, has developed rechargeable batteries using cellulose, which decompose within six weeks of being discarded. Cellulose acts as a natural medium for ion transfer between the anode and cathode. These batteries are entirely flexible, capable of being scaled down to the size of a coin battery or integrated into a smartwatch strap.

Beatbot, the Hong Kong brand behind the world’s most innovative robotic pool cleaners, unveiled RoboTurtle, a robotic turtle for marine exploration, ecological research and natural disaster relief. Thanks to an adaptive perception system, it can monitor water quality, track marine species and sample hazardous materials. An advanced flotation system and multi-articulated bionic limbs allow it to perform complex tasks without damaging the ecosystem in water and land. RoboTurtle can also support interventions in emergency situations such as oil spills or monitoring of species at risk.

Lenovo’s long-awaited ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 rollable laptop will launch in June 2025. With a single button press, the 14-inch landscape display extends upwards of over 16 inches. So far, at CES, we have seen ultra-definition, massive, see-through, foldable and rollable screens for TVs and phones. This year, Samsung presented a prototype for a stretchable screen that bulges and curves outward toward the viewer. If further developed, such innovation could lead to a new generation of phones, TVs and who knows what.
