The world’s first 3D-printed pasta debuts at Milan Design Week

Artisia is a groundbreaking startup by Barilla reshaping the art of pasta by combining 3D-printing technology, art, and gastronomy. Taste exquisite finger food recipes paired with signature cocktails by the renowned mixologists of Tomasi Milano cocktail bar [Piazza Giovine Italia 2, Map]. Discover unique designs at the Prendete e Mangiate exhibition at 5VIE Head Quarters [Via Cesare Correnti 14, Map].
The design bar with ‘magic’ windows on Italian panoramas
At the Leonardo da Vinci Museum of Science and Technology [April 7-13, 10 am-7 pm, Via Olona 6, Map], Anotherview presents Bar Altra Vista, a pop-up design bar featuring works by Duilio Forte, Analogia Project, Simone Fanciullacci, Matteo Di Ciommo, Benedetta Mori Ubaldini, Andrea Zambelli, and others. On the walls, Anotherview showcases ‘magical’ windows that provide views of some of the most iconic Italian landscapes from Milan, Naples, and Polignano al Mare. Dream about walking along the Amalfi coast with Memory of a Travel, an exclusive project Anotherview created for the British luggage company Globe-Trotter.
The 3D-printed craft tech celebrating the art of super premium Prosecco
The historic cantina Ruggeri is marking its 75th anniversary with Beyond75, a unique 3D-printed craft by Mediterranea Design. Drawing inspiration from the steep hills of Valdobbiadene, the birthplace of Prosecco DOCG, this piece is crafted from an innovative, sustainable bioplastic derived from corn. Its gold-toned, organic shape features alcoves that accommodate five of Ruggeri’s most innovative and groundbreaking bottles. Additionally, one alcove remains intentionally open to signify a future wine project yet to be developed, reflecting the cantina’s visionary and pioneering spirit. Beyond75 will debut at Bar Altra Vista [Map] during 5VIE white night on April 9 from 7 pm.
Alcova’s nocturnal design bar
Alcova introduces VOCLA, a night-time-only platform for design experimentation and social gathering [April 6-12 from 6 pm to 2 am, via Molise 62, Map]. It is centred around a custom-designed lounge bar by Henge, a whiskey and mixology showcase by NEIT, along with a pop-up fine dining experience curated by YAPA, showcasing recent works by both emerging and established designers. VOCLA will also host a lineup of performances by top-level DJs.
The coffee multi-sensory design journey
In Palazzo del Senato’s stunning courtyard [April 6-19, 10 am-7 pm, Via Senato 10, Map], Lavazza presents Source of Pleasure, an installation by Brazilian architect and designer Juliana Lima Vasconcellos. The pavilion is reminiscent of coffee tones from the very first glance. Tap into the heritage and expertise of Lavazza, which celebrates its 130th anniversary this year.
A Negroni Sbagliato please!
Bar Basso is the convivial destination where designers gather for their final drink while sharing their day with colleagues and friends [Via Plinio 39, Map]. The famed Negroni Sbagliato cocktail, made with vermouth, Campari, and Prosecco – was born here in 1968 and has been served in iconic large glasses ever since. Managed by the always-smiling Maurizio Stocchetto, Bar Basso has observed Milan’s evolution from a post-war industrial town to its current status as an international design capital.
A kiosk blending coffee and mixology
Italian coffee machine Manufacturer La Marzocco takes over a newsagent kiosk in the Brera district to blend coffee culture with the art of mixology [April 7-13, 9 am-7 pm, Corso Garibaldi 85, Map]. Acclaimed bartender Salvatore Calabrese invites you to taste his innovative coffee-based cocktail Negroni Svegliato – Awoken Negroni. The design pizzeria
Berberè teams up with Very Simple Kitchen and noo.ma to transform its pizzeria In the heart of Porta Venezia [April 7-13, 12 am-11 pm, Via Eustachi 13, Map] into the Very Simple: Pizzeria, a dynamic pop-up that blends design, food culture, and craftsmanship. The new setting combines bold lines and vibrant colours in dialogue with Noo.Ma’s furniture and the new Roto Plate in stainless steel. The space will also feature two Very Simple outdoor kitchen modules, seamlessly connecting the indoor and outdoor areas.
A garden of wonders
Eataly, the temple of Italian gastronomy, joins Milan Design Week with an installation by Elena Salmistraro. A large drawing invites visitors to a fascinating journey across the store’s two floors. Vibrant graphic design and anthropomorphic sculptures stand out among fiddle-leaf figs and bird of paradise flowers by Fratelli Ingegnoli. The installation is part of INTERNI Magazine’s Cre-Action diffused exhibition [8.30 am-11 pm, Piazza XXV Aprile, Map].
A fusion mise-en-place and dining experience
Western and Eastern flavours, ceramics with organic shapes, and wabi-sabi blend at the Raito Fantastic Fusion restaurant in the Brera district [Via San Marco 25, Map]. The beauty of imperfection reigns on the mise-en-place of Claywa’s exquisite, handcrafted ceramic tableware.
