In the wake of Donald Trump’s election, independent designers at COLONY reacted with an all-white exhibition exploring the full spectrum of lightness. “At first we were enveloped in a darkness… But Lightness should continue to grow our community, our businesses and find our footing in this new world.” Says Colony founder Jean Lin to Archipanic. Sight Unseen‘s editors created a cross-cultural exchange called Norway x New York, pairing 5 American studios with 5 Norwegian studios, who spent six months working together long-distance on objects that utilize an American workshop for fabrication and can be independently manufactured for future sales.
