Design. For Stockholm Design Week 2024, Paola Bjäringer, the founder of the Misschiefs feminist art and design platform, welcomes visitors to her home in the heart of the Swedish capital, which she converted into a private gallery for the RECLAIM! exhibition. This showcase features creative furniture and lighting designs by six Swedish designers who worked on the recycling theme.

MissChiefs is a creative collective for bold women with a punk spirit. “The new Swedish aesthetics are genderless, sexy, and loud!” Paola Bjäringer told Archipanic. The protagonists of the RECLAIM! exhibition are Kajsa Willner, Sara Szyber, Anna Nordström, Färg & Blanche, Ebba Lindgrenoers and Ellen Hedin.
Their creations are displayed alongside Paola’s private collection, featuring designs from French designers such as Mattali Crasset and Mathieu Lehanneur. “It’s all about creating conversations between designers, their craft, and their stories,” she notes.
The exhibition showcases items crafted from reclaimed wood, including Kajsa Willner’s Craft Punk vases and lamps, along with Sara Szyber’s Reclaim armchairs. Ellen Hedin reimagines pallets into a golden side table, Konto, and creates illuminated shelves from repurposed brass.

Several designers explored the potential of upcycled textiles. Anna Nordström showcases the Cushion Containers collection of quirky sofa pillows made from used textiles and shares her reflections on lace as family history.
The F-A-B Succession series Färg & Blanche comprises black dining chairs transformed with bold, textile-based dressings. Ebba Lindgrenoer’s Knock-o-Neon is a light sculpture made with vintage textiles and neon.
Misschiefs is a cross-disciplinary platform and method for female and non-binary creators that, since 2020, has offered free studio spaces and curated and produced exhibitions for over 100 artists and designers in Sweden and internationally. “Mischiefs is more than just a physical space: it’s a mental refuge, offering womxn the freedom to escape the pressures of capitalism and experiment without limits.”
