Japanese design studio Nendo managed to work glass like it was a patchwork quilt. www.nendo.jp – http://lasvit.com
The collection created for Lasvit combines the fine cut glass techniques special to Bohemian glass with ancient production method for sheet glass.
Reheating glass objetcs already decorated with traditional cut glass patterns, the studio sliced them open and reattached them to each other to create one large final piece that is artistically layered with several different textures as if it were an eclectically made quilt.
“As a manner of making, the process was like sewing together animal hides, or piecing together small fragments of cloth to create a great patchwork quilt” Say Nendo.
