Design, Technology. Not everyone is born with a green thumb. The new smart planter LeafyPod is set to save plants’ lives from their owners. Unveiled at the CES – Consumer Electronic Show, the innovation follows a specific watering schedule tailored to the type of plant, the season, location, and home environment. An AI algorithm learns how the soil and the plant respond during the first few watering sessions, automatically adjusting to establish an optimised watering routine.

LeafyPod is made from durable plastic materials chosen specifically for their resistance to water exposure and ability to maintain structural integrity over time. It comes with a water reservoir that can supply enough water for approximately four weeks. Say goodbye to tangled cables around your home, as a single charge can last up to six months.
The smart planter connects with an app that monitors moisture levels, light exposure, temperature, and more. It also provides timely alerts when your leafy friends require attention and delivers weekly insights. The LeafyPod Bridge links multiple planters to Wi-Fi and the app.
“Our vision is to harmonise technology with nature, creating an intuitive smart home device that allows anyone to connect with plants effortlessly,” said Cleo Song, co-founder of LeafyPod. “Whether you’re a seasoned plant enthusiast or someone new to greenery, LeafyPod makes plant care stress-free and deeply satisfying.”
After a successful Kickstarter campaign, LeafyPod debuted at CES in Las Vegas and is now available for preorder for 148$—shipping from April. Drawing on their extensive experiences at Tesla and Meta, the founders of the technology brand LeafyPod have created “an exciting new product that truly reflects the values of wellness, sustainability, and innovation.”
