Design. During Paris Design Week 2025, designer Jérémy Pradier-Jeauneau transforms the Hôtel de la Marine into a poetic journey with LE LABYRINTHE, a monumental and immersive installation that blends contemporary design, fine craftsmanship, and French heritage. Both intimate and spectacular, the project is a celebration of savoir-faire and storytelling, one that invites visitors to lose themselves in order to discover more.

The labyrinth is the very image of the human experience,” says Pradier-Jeauneau. “It is a space that brings together two paradoxes: loss and discovery.” And indeed, the installation is designed as a true odyssey, guiding guests from the Cour d’Honneur through the ceremonial salons, and finally to the loggia with its breathtaking view of Place de la Concorde. Along the way, design, art, fashion, painting, photography, and even mythology converge into a multi-sensory promenade.

The adventure begins with a monumental entrance flanked by two wing-shaped doors, paired with Lit National’s elegant outdoor beds—symbols of rest at the threshold of the unknown. Nearby, the throne of the Minotaur by Philippe Hurel, crowned with two giant horns, pays homage to the Greek myths at the heart of labyrinth stories.

Stepping further, visitors enter a maze-like architecture made of Mariaflora fabrics stretched over scaffolding. This tactile passage captures the restless, ever-transforming energy of Paris itself. Within the labyrinth, unexpected treasures sourced from LeBoncoin—a digital Aladdin’s cave of second-hand gems—add an element of playful surprise. Meanwhile, Fermob’s street lamps, seats, and tables light the way, bringing French outdoor design into dialogue with the historic site.

Inside the Hôtel de la Marine, the journey continues at the grand staircase, where Tikamoon presents a mirror, an armchair, and a side table as if they were sculptural works. Across from them, the Minotaur returns in the form of a haunting mask by Pierre-Louis Graizon, placed on a plaster bust by Atelier Lorenzi. A hidden face carved into the mask prompts reflection: who is the monster, and could it also be us?

In the ceremonial salons, the exhibition unfolds as a creative duel. Eight podiums stage encounters between fashion and design, young artists and galleries, alongside bespoke collaborations. Among the highlights are Pradier-Jeauneau’s own designs: a wave-shaped sofa by Phelippeau Tapissier and sculptural lounge chairs by Ateliers Racines.

Finally, the loggia hosts Les Voyeurs. Here, resin and plaster figures by Pradier-Jeauneau, draped in Maison Élitis’ dramatic textiles, gaze out over the city. This haunting installation asks us to reconsider our role as spectators—reminding us that in watching others, we inevitably become the watched.
