Scape vases collection by Israeli designers Shira Keret and Itay Laniado for Caesarstone pays homage to Nature breathtaking panoramas and encapsulates magnificent horizons from different places in the world in one’s living room.

The new line was designed to mimic natural stone. While look and feel are very similar, the synthetic surface surpasses natural stone’s quality and durability ­ doing a better job than nature itself.

Caesarstone, the global manufacturer of quality quartz surfaces, commissioned young creatives to develop new design paths that express the characteristcs of their material. The projects were then presented on the occasion of the GamVeGam group exhibition curated by Designspace gallery in Tel Aviv.

Shira Keret and Itay Laniado  say: “We were interested in addressing the practice of representing nature and see how we can give it expression through objects. We decided to design an object that imitates an ideal representation of nature”.

The designers began with surfing the web to find a collection of fantastic representations of nature: breath-taking skylines from Arizona to Namibia, from Antarctica to Japan.

Keret and Laniado transformed then the images in graphic designs that recreate the horizon as a meeting point between two surfaces in the vases. Each surface represents a simplified block of nature like water, mountain or sky.

The Scape vase collection was then created water jet cutting and combining different Caesarstone materials.
