Architecture, Interior Design. The Park Court Jingu Kitasando Tower by Hoshino Architects in Shibuya City stands among three of the most lush green spaces in the heart of Tokyo – Meiji Shrine, Jingu Gaien, and Shinjuku Gyoen – and dialogues with the surrounding urban nature. The 27-storey residential skyscraper features a striking facade accentuating delicate, soft, curved geometries.

“Giving the exterior design a unique woven nest-like facade adds value to the building as an iconic tower in a dynamic city,” Hiroaki Hoshino, founder of Hoshino Architects, told Archipanic.
Park Court Jingu Kitasando Tower respects and empowers urban fauna, aiming to become a thriving living nest. The landscape design includes various tree species to boost biodiversity and create a habitat for birds and other urban wildlife. Solar panels on the rooftop provide a sustainable energy source to operate the architecture’s main facilities.
The ‘nest’ concept design also defines the interiors. A three-dimensional weave of walls and floors creates a light-filled space in the entrance lounge, sculpting the atrium into a passage that guides visitors inside. The three-story vaulted ceiling, featuring a majestic chandelier, traces the large, elongated wall from the entrance. A bold staircase leads diagonally underground.
The Loft Lounge features a scenographic roof that weaves vertical and horizontal lines together. It is furnished with soft, curved sofas. Hoshino Architects mainly used wood elements throughout the building to create the atmosphere of being inside a tree.
The ground and rooftop sections were planned to be connected to the surrounding greenery. On the rooftop, an open-air lounge with a curvaceous plan comprising verdant alcoves overlooks the surrounding parks.

The lighting layout accentuates the wavy design at the top of the tower, giving it a three-dimensional appearance at night. At the same time, the exterior lights softly illuminate the green facade, maintaining an inviting space after sunset.
Located at the junction of a long sidewalk and a crossroads, the Park Court Jingu Kitasando Tower is easily accessible to residents and the surrounding community. The landscape was designed to be open to the surrounding environment, allowing for walking and other activities. A pastel green wall is planned to gently connect the private and public boundaries while preserving residential privacy.
