What would a house designed by Dalí look like? What if Miró was commissioned to design his own museum?
The Archist project by Italian architect and graphic designer Federico Babina is a playful reinterpretation of the expressive language of 27 popular artists.
“In this project I took pleasure imagining architecture steeped in art, designed and constructed through the interpretation of an artist’s language and aesthetics” Says Federico Babina.
Art and Architecture often cross each others paths. Sometimes these intersections can be quite convincing to both architects and artists, but also often the outcome can be rather questionable. Babina’s work breaks down any possible conflict with an exquisite and playful attitude.
Indeed “painting, sculpture and architecture have always been complementary disciplines influencing each other to feed growth and develop along common paths” comment the author.
“I like finding the hidden architecture in parallel universes, in this sense, the illustration helps me to explore alternative languages. These images represent an imaginary world of shapes that uses the brush to paint architecture”.
“Every day I try to rediscover and observe the world through a child’s eyes. Without social conditioning and life experience children have a totally uninhibited vision of things”.
