For its 62nd edition, the fair celebrates design with the overarching theme of Thought for Humans. In design, “the starting point is always the sensation, the human being who experiences space,” explained Maria Porro, President of Salone del Mobile.Milano.

Three major exhibitions will enliven the fair and beyond. At Castello Sforzesco in Milan’s city centre, acclaimed visual artist Robert Wilson will present Mother, an installation in dialogue with Michelangelo’s unfinished last masterpiece, Pietà Rondanini.

Academy Award-winning filmmaker Paolo Sorrentino presents La Dolce Attesa site-specific installation [Halls 2-4]. “The idea I had was to dismantle the stylistic features of the classic waiting room and create a place where waiting is deceptive. Hence the idea of creating a space that does not force us to sit on a chair, but rather makes us travel,” explains the director.
