Milan Design Week 2015. Cosentino Group, global leader in the production and distribution of innovative surfaces for the world of architecture and design, teamed with influent designers and architects to showcase the high-tech performances of the new Dekton® material. Swedish designer Monica Förster created an outdoor lighting collection and a design tea-set whilst Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel realised an architectural installation in the historical main courtyard of Milan downtown university.
Monica Förster studio designed the Tealight and Moonlight collections using 8 mm and 12 mm Dekton®. The designer said: “Dekton® unique qualities are resistance to heat and thermal shock as well as the fact that it is ultra compact. We have therefore created design collections which are based on these qualities”. Indeed, the Tealight tableware collection of trays, includes an integrated tealight holder and coaster for oil and vinegar.
Moonlight outdoor collection of candleholers plays with the contrast between light and shadow. Three different shaped sides that interact with each other embrace the candle like petals creating a movement that makes the object look different from any point of view.
During Milan design week, on the occasion of Interni magazine annual exhibition in the stunning courtyards of Università Statale. Cosentino invited Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel to set up and installation and showcase Dekton® features for architecture projects as well.

The architects created Deep Words Light. The monolithic installation inspired by the Teatro Olimpico of Palladio featured two steles that formed the backdrop for an ideal stage in the 17th-century portico. Words of wisdom were carved from the Dekton® surface to enhance the material ductile aesthetics for architecture but also to stress its monumental features.
