Eindhoven 2020 – Dutch Design Week went virtual due to a rise of Covid-19 cases. We have collected some of the images and product launches on show. Thanks to over 1,500 (inter)national designers, DDW2020 became the online centre of the creative industry last week.
“We are proud of what has been achieved together with the design community in this short period of time, the diversity of interesting design content that has resulted from this and the relevant connections that have been made over the past nine days.” Say At Dutch Design Week.
On DDW2020 website you can find the eight trends of DDW20 as spotted by Jeroen Junte, interviews with our ambassadors, longreads related to the theme The New Intimacy and recaps of several DDW TV formats. With 750 3D Viewing Rooms, virtual tours, matchmaking sessions, DDW TV, livestreams by partners and designers, publicity on national television and radio, and a.o. a virtual visit from the minister of Education, Culture, and Science, Ingrid van Engelshoven, the virtual festival was a success.
“While the physical component of DDW remains indispensable, the virtual component is a keeper. That is why, next year, we want to combine both in a hybrid DDW; a festival with an online and offline component.”
