After a successful inaugural season that featured more than 150 exhibited artifacts, a special gifting show by filmmaker-artist Van Neistat, musical performances and thousands of visitors worldwide, Museum announces a dynamic new season that explores the theme of daily human existence through the examination of ephemera and cultural relics used to navigate, manipulate or simply make sense of the modern world. In addition to the new collections on display, Museum will unveil renovations to the space such as a gift shop with exclusive items for purchase — including a series of books developed and produced by Museum — and a café featuring an espresso menu and selection of homemade baked goods and desserts curated by a variety of local purveyors and chefs.
Founded in 2012 by Alex Kalman, Josh Safdie and Benny Safdie of Red Bucket Films, Museum is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a national non-profit arts service organization. The space serves as a center for mounted exhibitions, video installations, limited-edition showcases, performance pieces, film screenings and a lecture series.
