Milan 2021 – Utilitarian domestic pieces come with pure shapes and spatial gestures such as bent, arch, curve, stack or juxtapose. The series comprises a chair, a table, a stool, an armchair and a cabinet set, all made of steel and finished in a holographic surface treatment that leads to a playful perception of colour.

Eleni Petaloti and Leonidas Trampoukis, co-founders of Athens and New York City-based Objects of Common Interest studio, developed the collection for the Etage Projects gallery. “At Alcova, we suggest a futuristic domestic landscape set up within the frozen-in-time space of the nunnery utility rooms,” Say at Etage Project. “A spatial investigation at the intersection of history, coexistence practices, and contemporary habitation.”
The studio also introduces Element lights, “standing transparent figures holding lights within their body, bare minimum elements combined in a volumetric object.” The Liquid Rocks series consists of solid rock formations sitting upon a tray on casters as an elemental gesture for creating a resting element. “The rock is a familiar yet surprising material mass, semitransparent, solid and soft in touch, producing a unique sensible feel.”
Objects of Common Interest studio operates within art, design and architecture, blending projects in scale from objects and installations to interactive, immersive environments and interior spaces.
“We aim to create projects that balance between the long-lasting and the ephemeral.” Say Eleni Petaloti and Leonidas Trampoukis. “Our creative approach stems from an abstract realm enriched with layers of conceptual readings: moments of unfamiliar simplicity, sculptural and material self-expression, structural articulation.”
