Interior Design. Studio Author has reimagined the cosmetic clinic with a striking design for POUTx, a natural Botox and filler clinic in Toronto. Forget sterile white walls—this 75-square-metre space glows unapologetically in lipstick reds and saturated pinks, setting the stage for a bold new take on beauty.
The designers embraced a tightly curated material palette: stainless steel, micro-cement, and acrylic, chosen as much for practicality as for impact. Floors, walls, and even the ceiling are washed in pink, enveloping visitors in colour, while accents of glossy red and polished stainless steel bring contrast and edge. Vertical neon tube lights and oversized convex mirrors heighten the effect, amplifying the space through reflections and glowing gradients.
At its core, a sculptural stainless-steel welcome desk acts as both reception and social hub—a place to connect before and after treatments. From here, visitors get an unexpected peek into two open treatment pods. This openness is intentional: rather than concealing procedures, the design reframes them as a lifestyle choice, dismantling the stigma around “getting work done.”
Each pod is fitted with a custom stainless-steel nurse’s station, circular consultation mirror, and surgical lighting, marrying clinical precision with design flair. Behind the scenes, practical details like concealed freezers, sharps disposal, and discreet storage ensure smooth functionality without disrupting the aesthetic.
The storefront itself makes a bold statement on Toronto’s busy streets. Vertical neon strips blaze across the windows, turning the clinic into a beacon of light. Inside, glossy red colonnades conceal storage and coat closets, while a dramatic graphic “Face Wall” pushes the visual energy even further.
By balancing clinical rigour with theatrical flair, Studio Author has crafted more than just a cosmetic clinic. POUTx is a glowing, colour-blocked experience—part wellness space, part social statement, and entirely unforgettable.
