“Indifference is complicit of the worst crimes” said Liliana Segre, Italian senator and Holocaust survivor. January 27 is Memorial Day. An important date remembering the crimes of the Nazi regime which mass tortured and murdered over 6 million Jews.
We must all remember as an act of respect for those who suffered and fought one of the most efferate crimes against humanity. It is an imperative to reflect on such horror to avoid future sufferance. Because as time passes by, survivors’ memories shall not become a simple paragraph in history books. But a lesson for future generations.
Because if we forget we will give space to indifference, again. And it is not time to forget!
