“Since its beginning, Alessi has been the standard for kitchenware excellence.” Says Marcel Wanders. “We were very inspired by the challenge of combining the functionality with the imagination and pagentry of the circus”.
Marcello the Strongman is an mime artist who has a tough (and nutty) job to crack. Gilberto the Jester is a corkscrew in disguise that jumps up and down in an explosion of colours.
Valentina is great belly dancer with one little big fan. The ballerina musical box is a graceful baby elephant who spins upon a gilded ball. It performs classical dance steps in the company of her little mouse.
Massimo the Ringleader is a quirky ringmaster and a ring bell as well. He is led by a little monkey who runs after a banana. Alberto the Candyman jaw drops dispensing candies for sugar addicts.
The five limited editions kitchen tools have a captivating personality. “They express the fantastical individual personas that make the first, and most lasting, impression upon you at the circus”. The family is made of stainless steel, embellished with original decorations.
The kitchenware collection includes also plates, trays and bowls made of stainless steel, as well as ceramic bowls of varying sizes and mugs. “We have also created tinplates and glass storage containers. These items lend themselves very well bold patterns and present the colours of the circus” say at Alessi.
All pieces are characterised by rhomboidal, circular, striped and pointed geometric patterns. Colours range from white and black to yellow, red, gold and silver.
