Design. Outdoor lighting is no longer just about function—it’s about feeling. Today’s designs are inspired by nature’s own forms: fishing rods, mushrooms, birds, and flowers. These sculptural pieces don’t just light up the night; they blend into greenery, nestling among shrubs and bushes to create dreamy atmospheres and scenographic accents along walkways and terraces.

Lodes steps outdoors for the first time with its debut collection, designed to extend the warmth of the living room out onto terraces and into the garden. At the heart of the collection is Kinno, a mushroom-inspired bollard by Patrick Norguet. Its organic slats peek out from beneath a curved cap, and its base comes in straight or curved options with five finish choices, offering versatility and subtle elegance that complements the landscape.

Named after a beloved anime fisherman, Sampei by Davide Groppi transforms a flexible fishing rod into a feather-light lamp. Delicate and graceful, it evokes swaying willow branches or bamboo in the breeze. A surprising and weightless gesture, it invites you to look up and be enchanted. Available in four heights, for both indoor and outdoor spaces, it uses light like a fisherman’s hook.

From the Philippines, designer Kenneth Cobonpue tells a story of tradition with Fish Tales, a poetic floor lamp that pays tribute to fishing cultures. Woven rattan poles surround a steel frame shaped like a basket, encasing golden sea creatures in suspended motion. When illuminated, it becomes a glowing tribute to marine life, caught in a beautiful pause.

Floral elegance takes centre stage in Bloom, the latest outdoor collection by DAAA Haus for Contardi. Inspired by calla lilies, Bloom’s sculptural shapes are designed to be grouped together, creating magical garden moments even when unlit. Made with a special silicone diffuser and weather-resistant IP65 technology, these lights glow with a warm, enveloping light while standing strong against the elements.

Umut Yamac’s Perch Lights for Moooi bring the delicate flutter of birds to patios and terraces. Life-sized origami birds, perched on sleek metal branches, gently rock in the breeze or with the touch of a finger. Their soft light and subtle movement add a touch of magic to outdoor moments, evoking wonder with every glance.

Finally, Soli by Milú Brunell offers a poetic, off-grid solution powered entirely by soil. Inspired by sunflowers, Soli rotates its head to follow the sun, drawing power from microbes in healthy soil through microbial fuel cell technology. It casts a gentle glow perfect for pathways and atmosphere. Brunell even designed it to be watered like a plant—a symbolic and practical gesture that reconnects us with the living earth beneath our feet.
