LGBT+ – It’s Pride month! British furniture brand ercol teamed up with interior designers Russell Whitehead and Jordan Cluroe of 2LG Studio to celebrate diversity with four limited-edition Originals LOVE Seats. Each piece features a unique configuration of the 6 vibrant shades of the iconic LGBT+ rainbow flag, originally design by Gilbert Baker in 1978.

The hues were reinterpreted by 2LG according to the studio’s distinctive take on colour and design. From ultramarine to coral, violet and a splash of luminous yellow, each design is brought to life through a combination of playful shades that capture ercol and 2LG’s shared passion for colour and forward-thinking design.
Designed in 1956 by Lucian R Ercolani, the Originals LOVE Seat is a progression of the classic Windsor Chair, featuring a bowed top, spindle back and a solid elm seat. Edward Tadros, Chairman at ercol, comments: “The LOVE Seat is one of ercol’s most iconic designs and its very function is to be shared, which we felt was a natural starting point for this project. With their unique viewpoint on Pride, Russel and Jordan were the perfect fit for this commission.”
“We wanted to put our own spin on the classic rainbow palette, and curate a collection of colours that were not only more contemporary, but were specific to us and the work that we do.” Explain Russell Whitehead and Jordan Cluroe of 2LG Studio. “Approaching the concepts, it was important that the finish result was not only a great piece of design but also felt joyful.”
The four LOVE Seats will be used to support and champion activities around Pride Month in June and the London Pride Parade at the start of July, with three chairs being sold and auctioned off for charity. All the proceeds from the sales and auctions will go to Stonewall and the Pride in London charitable foundation.
