Design – At Maison & Objet 2024, the Tech-Eden main theme devised by trend consulting agency Peclers Paris explores the profound evolution of the relationship between science and nature as the basis for a sustainable and desirable future. To celebrate the fair’s 30th anniversary, a special exhibition in three chapters highlights the future key values for the retail and hospitality of tomorrow: well-being, energising, and regenerative.

According to Peclerc Paris, “In the medium term, visitors to hospitality venues looking for new forms of escape will want them to be more than just functional spaces and, for some, just transitional spaces. To stop them, prolong their visit and, above all, keep them coming back, the hospitality industry will be using hybridisation and events to turn them into places for unique, unexpected, sensitive and versatile experiences. With well-being at the heart of each of these experiences, no longer as a moment ‘on the side’ but as a principle for organising daily life, respecting biophilic rhythms: awakening, active and regenerative phases.”

Visitors are welcomed by The Well-Being Cafe, a holistic space for a healthy, balanced lifestyle – a design experience to awaken the senses and embrace new rituals of reconnection with our bodies and the world. The installation comprises furniture with organic shapes by Snoop and Studio Conquérants and seats made from expanded cork by Gencorck, a 100% natural and sustainable material manufactured with high-tech processes. Serax and Teresa Berger present tactile tableware, while Superzero solid shampoo introduces natural cosmetics based on edible ingredients.

The second space, The Gym Station, is a waiting room transformed into a continual opportunity for activity. At the heart of the installation is an exercise bike, the result of a collaboration between Ciclotte and digital design studio RHNH. This delicate, unreal disc seems to be suspended in front of an immersive video by Parisian 3D artist Roxi Basa. Everything in this space is an invitation to take advantage of a moment’s pause to get moving and travel into new imaginary worlds. Dyson air-purifying headphones, Laurids Gallée’s energising lamp, and the enveloping shapes of Ciryl Zakrzewski’s Dune chair are on display.

The Spa Room reimagines the hotel room as a sound bath, where you can lie back and enjoy an enveloping and relaxing acoustic experience. A high-fidelity experience thanks to Cabasse speakers to enhance a playlist tuned to its audience and its moods by Studio Olympe. Laufen presents the Vanityfair Ilbagnoalessi washbasins and toilets, and Jessica Boubetra introduces her 3D sculptures and arborescent stools.
