Dubai 2016 – MB&F M.A.D.Gallery Dubai, the Middle East’s first mechanical art gallery, presents an exhibition of gravity-defying designs by renowned French kinetic artist Quentin Carnaille. The installation open until the 15th of May features works made of levitating discs that are composed of thousands of vintage mechanical watch components held together by a magnetic force.
Carnaille levitating designs are part of the new Apesanteur series. Apesanteur means ‘weightlessness’ in French. Indeed, the pieces float in the air and move in a graceful and hypnotic circular motion.
“My work reflects of the notion of time, questioning themes like infinity or relativity and celebrating the golden age of watchmaking” says Quenting Carnaille to ArchiPanic.

Through creating this environment MB&F have found kindred spirits in the world of kinetic art, and an appropriate context in which to situate their Horological and Legacy Machines. The M.A.D.Gallery Dubai (Al Serkal Avenue, Street 8 in Al Quoz 1) is the third instalment of this innovative concept, after Geneva and Taipei.
