Protagonist of the “Foundamentals” exhibitions will be balconies, stairs, walls and roofs: the real fundamentals of architecture. “The Archistar word is an invention by lazy journalists” Commented indeed Rem Koolhas.

Monditalia – Arsenale

Monditalia is a portrait of Italy. A multidisciplinary cabinet that will blend architecture with art, music, dance an theatre where the role of Rem Koolhas will enhance the more anthropological and sociological attitude toward architecture.

Absorbing Modernity: 1914-2014. National Pavilions

“100 years ago it was reasonable to talk about national architecture. Today it almost doesn’t make sense, how is it possible that everybody build the same things?” Suggest Koolhas. Absorbing Modernity: 1914-2014 is this year main challenge offered to all 65 national pavilions taking part at the Biennale. Each of them has been called to investigate and show how countries have been welcoming (or refusing) contemporary challenges.
