Forget ugly stocky black boxes, Transparent Speaker, the see through audio system designed by Swedish start-up PEOPLE PEOPLE combines sustainble design with high-tech performance. The project that was born from a blog-comment and a successful kickstarted campaign is now available on the agency’s portal PEOPLE Products. Tansparent Speaker met design planet at Stockholm Furniture Fair 2015.

On the front a solid low end is delivered by a 6.5-inch subwoofer, while two 3-inch full-range drivers give crispy highs and punchy mid-tones. Its built-in amplifier features embedded digital signal processing (DSP) that translates into a rich, full, balanced sound. The jack port, on/off switch, volume, bass and treble are on the front, where you’d expect them. The power lead is tucked in the rear corner, so there’s no cables cluttering up the place.
Transparent Speaker was born from PEOPLE PEOPLE’s provocative blog comment on sustainability in home electronics, the unexpected response by the web led the design agency to launch a successful Kickstater campaign.
At the end of 2014, PEOPLE PEOPLE launched the portal PEOPLE Products in order to let people get their hands on the start-up’s projects and to let the public link up with the rest of the PEOPLE products community.
