Design–Archipanic shored to the most glamorous Mediterranean island to join Nomad Capri 2024, the invite-only design event by the travelling showcase Nomad Circle. The exclusive showcase was mainly staged at the Certosa di San Giacomo, a majestic fourteenth-century monastery studded between Mediterranean vegetation and the sea. Inloco Open Storage.
From Dubai, Inloco Open Storage debuted at Nomad Capri with The Idealized City project, which questioned the uniformity in urban development in ancient cities and historical destinations across the globe. Starting from Leon Battista Alberti’s Renaissance Ideal City, the installation invited visitors to reflect on how mass tourism can transform authenticity and collective identity.

Nina Yashar, founder of Nilufar Gallery, thoughtfully curated a display that harmonised with the poetic space of the Certosa di San Giacomo. The exhibition featured a large installation with evocative furniture by Etereo and light creations by Christian Pellizzari; all centred around themes of nature and organic elements.
GINORI ARTE called international artists and designers to transform and reinterpret white porcelain tableware and iconic objects from GINORI 1735 into unique and irreplicable art and design pieces.

CARLOCINQUE Gallery from Milan explored the dynamic dialogue between form and material, featuring artworks interconnected by selected materials. Highlights included Bertozzi & Casoni’s hyperrealistic sculpted creatures ‘who’ seemed to wander across the Certosa spaces. Imperfettolab blurred the lines between nature and artifice with natural and illusory furniture collections made of fibreglass.

Rosanna Orlandi’s UNBOXING exhibition was about serendipity and the excitement of discovering new things. Vanessa Semaino‘s quirky and sardonic ceramics were at the heart of the exhibition. Indeed, she interpreted traditional female Moorish heads with a tongue-in-cheek attitude. The pieces use pop visual language to address contemporary social issues and explore the seven deadly sins.

Founded by Alexander Diaz Andersson in Mexico City, architecture and design studio ATRA stands out at the cross between Nordic minimalism and Mexican maximalism. In Capri, The Future Relics exhibition embodied the studio’s innovative vision for the near future, including new furniture and lighting series.

Naples and Milan-based art gallery Lia Rumma presented City of Silence, a cityscape installation of beeswax sculptures by Wolfgang Laib. Inside the Certosa church, towers, houses, and ziggurats nodded to archetypal places of dwelling and worship.
Several special projects beyond the walls of Certosa di San Giacomo included an Andy Warhol photo exhibition curated by Martin Brûlé and in collaboration with the Hedges Collection at the Grand Hotel Quisisana.

Valentina Bonomo Gallery teamed up with Ferragamo headquarters in Capri to present an LCD screen and a sculpture by acclaimed British pop artist Julian Opie. Since the 1980s, he has been portraying people in the street, reworking the images and creating what we might call modern icons of our time.
