Like many other world capitals, also Paris suffers for the lack of housing that could allow average-income people to find their own home in town. That’s why Périphériques Marin + Trottin Architectes presented Paris par nous Paris pour nous – Paris by us, Paris for us – a solution that merges into one single block typical real-estate solutions (and styles) for all ages and pockets [+ Video].

Périphériques Marin + Trottin Architectes’ project condenses different housing models that refer to Paris iconic architecture in one single block made of white clay bricks. Each unit is unique and enhances the volumetrics of the building reflecting light and absorbing urban noises as well.

“Our proposal has a strong political message” say the architects to ArchiPanic “Indeed, middle classes have real difficulties in finding housing in Paris. They have incomes that are to high to enter the social housing criteria but too low to afford private housings! Homeownership is really expensive. Our proposal provides an answer to this shortage, lack of offers”.
The building features balconies, terraces and public gardens.
Paris par nous Paris pour nous proposal joined the Reinventer Paris – Reinventing Paris – a competition launched by Anne Hidalgo and her deputy mayor Jean-Louis Missika to find social-driven solutions.
Inside the architectures is divided in housing units of all sizes, budgets and styles to meet different people needs.
The project aims to reconnect with social, cultural and generational urban mix including studios for both the younger and elder ones, two-bedroom apartments and family flats. On top of that, the architecture portrays various Parisian ways of living and illustrating a participative economic operation in which each one can become an owner according to his own financial resources.

“With the Paris par nous Paris pour nous proposal we aimed to create innovative properties, even condominiums, that combine accessible and top of the range housings” say Périphériques Marin + Trottin Architectes to ArchiPanic. “The various apartments schemes which generate various lease rates… And it can be proposed by common-holders and crowd-funders on the renting market but below market prices”.
Concept: the process of merging several architectures in one single block.
