Eindhoven 2018 – Industrial designer René Holten presents OOCLOCK, “a completely new clock concept and an absolutely silent witnesses of time”. With a 70 cm diameter, the design features 3 concentric rotating elements. A steel dial on each part, works like a clock hand completing a 360° circle at a different speed.

The inner disk indicates seconds, the middle ring indicates hours, while the outer ring indicates minutes. The design was developed in collaboration with Gidy Knoors and Matthijs Hajer, two Dutch engineers with many years of experience in high-tech product development and co-founders of 2Creatics.

The rotating elements are coated in several colours, and are also available with finishes of beautiful metal oxides ranging from red brown rust to green copper, blue steel, and even gold-plated. Dials are made of steel, coated in standard RAL colours, and in special colours on request.
OOCLOCK sets up a wifi connection to a smart phone so that it’s easy to set the time from the mobile’s menu. All parts are locally manufactured in the Eindhoven region and assembled by professionals. The design is sustainable too as it is made from durable and recyclable materials.
“We have developed technology for high tech companies for many years, and love to design products. Now we bring together technology and interior design and enable products on the crossing point of art and design that have never been seen before.” Explain René Holten, Gidy Knoors and Matthijs Hajer.
