Chicago-based eclectic poppers OK GO made a video commercial for Chinese furniture store Red Star Macalline walking on walls, ceilings and furniture and singing a catchy tune. The colourful and cheerful video is filled with spatial illusions that transform architecture in graphic designs and viceversa.
The video welcomes through a psychedelic world of contemporary interior design turning the room upside-down.
OK GO say: “The Red Star Macalline’s project is a visual reference to our video The Writing’s on the Wall but set to a remix of I Won’t Let You Down by our very own Dan Konopka. Because sometimes you just make what you want”.
The video shows a propulsive and at-the-same-time laid back attitude to the design shopping experience matching perfectly marketing, architecture and music. “Next year everyone will be doing it. You heard it here first!” dared to say OK GO on Twitter.
OK GO’s last winter hit I Won’t Let You Down that inpired the Red Star Macallin commercial featured futuristic motorized unicycles and was shot with the help of insanely skillful drone pilot Kenji Yasuda.
