Non Linear ‘s design takes shape from a 1-inch thick acrylic that is cut with CNC machines and then discreetly inlaid band of light emitting diodes. Thanks to kelvin-temperature adjustable LED technology and full color RGB LEDs the modules trasform simple geometries into fluorescent transparencies that can be controlled by a remote control or a smartphone.
Each module can be freely connected with others with cords that come in more than 30 colours. The result is an endless combinations of lightings for both commercial and residential applications. All the NON LINEAR products are also customizable under specific requests.
For this lighting collection, there was a clear objective. NON DESIGN co-founder Miao Miao explained to ArchiPanic: “How can we use one simple, well rounded system to perform distinctly different expressions? It should have strong personality but be minimal enough to speak to a multitude of applications.”
Founded by Miao Miao and Scott Franklin, NON DESIGN is a young, ambitious studio born with two laptops and a dream. The designers continuously exercise a broad range of design disciplines and fine-tune their voice to pursue their design quest.
Surrounded by stimulating projects and high tech toys, their vision has now become tangible. “Today is a great day because the designs spread across the tables will be built using our brand new modular design systems”.
