NYCxDESIGN 2018 – Another Human launches its first lighting designs – Dorothy and Sophia – at Sight Unseen OFFSITE during New York City Design Festival. Pulling inspiration from the curvy chrome Italian lighting designs of the late 60’s and 70’s, the new Memphis school-inspired lamps are elegant in finish and playful in form.

Leah Ring, creative soul of the young Los Angeles-based design studio, worked closely with skilled artisans in L.A. to produce the chrome-plated table lamps “with the aim to extend the product line to other lighting products throughout 2018,” explains the designer.
Last year the Another Human debuted with its first collection at Sigh Unseen OFFSITE with the Just Can’t valet. The geometric shapes and bright blue color of the furniture paid homage too the Memphis school as well.
The Dorothy and Sophia lighting designs are on show until 20 May 2018 at Sight Unseen OFFSITE main exhibition in 201 Mulberry Street, Manhattan.

Leah Ring’s work is sculptural and modern—playful with a practical twist. Since its founding in 2017, Another Human has launched a collaboration with Urban Outfitters, been named as a finalist in Lane Crawford’s Creative Call out as well as an honoree on the Sight Unseen American Design Hot List, and exhibited on a global scale.
During NYCxDESIGN 2018, the bold patterns of the iconic Italian design movement stand out also in a permanent 6-story mural by British designer Camille Walala. The art work wrapping the facade of an Industry City building debuts at the IC Festival by Wanted Design in Brooklyn.
