Design – DesignMiami, the world’s most influential platform for collectible design, has finally opened its first fair in Paris. Expected to debut last year in Place de la Concorde during the first edition of Paris+ by Art Basel, the event was cancelled at the last minute due to safety reasons. This year, organisers secured a safe location: the Hôtel de Maisons, a mini-Versailles and Karl Lagerfeld’s former home, a stone’s throw from the Musée d’Orsay. The inaugural DesignMiami Paris is on show through Sunday, October 22, at 51 rue de l’Université, 75007 Paris, Map.

It doesn’t surprise that New York-based leading gallery Friedman Benda is set to inaugurate its first gallery in the Marais district in 2024.
