At World Architecture Festival in Singapore, Brazilian practice Gustavo Penna Arquiteto & Associados won the Future Project Award for Culture with the Freedom of the Press Monument: a gesture in glass that will raise at Praça Central, Paranoá, in Brasilia.
Crystal clear, solid, but as delicate as freedom itself, the Monument will shelter the International Press Center reflecting the culture of Brazilian people, based on common sense.
The project is composed of two elements: a box with translucent structural glass panels supported by tie rods and fasteners metal and an underground section surrounded by concrete walls that host facilities for multimedia projections, meetings, exhibitions and ceremonies.
“The Freedom of the Press Monument dynamic shape tears the space in two moments: one for advancing in the facts, in the truth, and another, free to expose itself and speak loud at the world” Say at Gustavo Penna Arquiteto & Associados.
