Frank Chou is part of China’s new generation of independent design studios. At Design Shanghai the Beijing based practice founded in 2012 presented furnitures with a new “fusion” attitude.
Frank Chou Design Studio new collections feature Line Shelf a minimal pastel coloured design furniture made in metal and Restshore, a lounge chair in walnut and fabric. Ring lamp is the floor lighting with a simple and linear design that create a luminous halo on the wall whilst Kuan Chair features a light and rounded brass structure holding a smooth and soft seat.

All the projects by Frank Chou Design Studio combine top European manufacturing industry with a team of highly skilled professionals from across the globe but are also insipired by Chinese contemporary style.
Frank Chou says “The most difficult task we face is how to keep the independent design identity that we have created. We must try to absorb and utilise all aspects of the industry between the west and east, then make one combination of them together to create a new, and contemporary fusion market”.
“We believe design is not only about the function and aesthetics. What’s more, design is a result by linking all resources and requirements together to support and develop the integration of markets”. Frank Chou Design Studio develops influential designs to both help the progression of the brand and the emersion of the brand into the Chinese market.
