Miami 2019 – Louis Vuitton’s expands its Objets Nomade collection, Miu Miu launches bespoke stools while Virgil Abloh’s presents a crystalware collection for Baccarat. We rounded up some of the best fashion empowered designs on show at Miami Art and Design Week.

The Balenciaga Sofa by Crosby Studios
At DesignMiami/’s Curio platform, Balenciaga and Crosby Studios teamed up to spread the message of sustainability through collectible furniture made from unused and damaged Balenciaga clothing. The surface of the Balenciaga Sofa – inspired by an overstuffed recliner – is made from unsellable clothing and off-cuts from the Balenciaga warehouse.
FENDI Architectural installation
Zurich-based design studio Kueng Caputo looked at the architecture of FENDI headquarters in the iconic Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana in Rome. The collection of furniture means is displayed in order to create intimate alcoves for socializing, escaping, and working on the grand loggias of the iconic building. The pieces combine FENDI’s iconic, supple Selleria Roman leather and versatile, unpretentious terracotta brick.
Louis Vuitton’s Objets Nomades
Louis Vuitton expands its Objets Nomades limited-edition, collectible furniture range. Pieces from the collection have been imagined by some of today’s most creative designers: Patricia Urquiola, India Mahdavi, Atelier Oï, Atelier Biagetti, Barber and Osgerby, Fernando and Humberto Campana, Damien Langlois-Meurinne, Raw Edges, Zanellato/Bortotto, Marcel Wanders, Tokujin Yoshioka, Nendo and André Fu.
Sasha Bikoff x Versace
In 1993, Gianni and Donatella Versace released South Beach Stories, a photo book documenting their fascination with the city of Miami. 25 years later, the rare publication has become the main inspiration for interior designer Sasha Bikoff’s installation. The designer has created unique furniture pieces on show at the Italian Maison’s flagship boutique in Miami Design District.
Virgil Abloh’s glassware for Baccarat
Fashion designer Virgil Abloh celebrates the 255th anniversary of ‘crystal arbiter’ Baccarat with a tableware collection comprising chandeliers, table vessels, and drinking glasses. The limited edition range is on show at the company’s BBar boutique and lounge in the Miami Design District.
M/M Paris studio x Miu Miu
Prada’s brand Miu Miu presents M/Marbles Stool, the second design collaboration with M/M Paris studio. Crafted in an opulent and meticulously researched mix of paradoxical materials such as palm wood, crepe rubber, and hand-blown Murano glass marbles, the furniture can be discovered in iconic Miami locations, such as the historic Buena Vista Post Office and The Standard’s outdoor garden.
