Located in the heart of Dubai Design District – D3, ABWABdoor in Arabic – host 45 regional designs from 15 MENASA countries. The exhibition is encapsulated in a dramatic structure design by Fahed + Architects which is made from repurposed bed springs sourced from a local waste management company.

The creative imprint of Casablanca goes on show at the exhibition curated by Salma Lahlou, who has commissioned new works from a sound artist, graphic designer, photographer and interior architect to portray the city she lives and breathes. “Loading… Casa” provides an insight into the Moroccan city offering visitors a chance to experience the city’s “design scene inspired by the collision of the past and present”.


Silent Call by Khalid Shafar and Lasvit

Dubai-based designer Khalid Shafar and lighting brand, Lasvit unveil Silent Call, an installation which translates the Muslim call to prayer into light. The domes of 5 iconic mosques across the world are reinterpreted as a pulsating glass constellation: the moving chandelier synchronizes with the five daily prayer calls according to the timezone of each mosque.
