“We invite architects, thinkers, students, artists, designers, strategists – and everybody in-between – to join Close, Closer in a new, meaningful conversation about a more expansive, collaborative and connected architecture and spatial practice in our cities. Through the award we hope to support new voices and forms of practice. We hope the award will contribute to the young professionals’ creative, intellectual and professional growth at crucial and potentially transformative stages in their careers”. Comment the chief curator Beatrice Galilee, head of the jury composed of the executive director Manuel Henriques, Eva Franch i Gilabert (Founder of OOAA and of Starefront Studio, Spain) and Ou Ning (activist, curator, editor and and urban researcher, China), Tatiana Bilbao (founder of Studio Tatiana Bilbao SC, Mexico) and Diego Seixas Lopes (Fonder of Barbas Lopes Arquitectos, Portugal).
A prize of €5,000 will be awarded to the winning architect/practice. A shortlist of ten architects/practices will receive honorary mentions.
