Taking whiskey drinkers to the summit
For those who dream big and have their sights set on the highest peaks, Danish designer Nina Bruun redefines the whiskey drinking experience with The Liiton Everest Whiskey Glass and Decanter Set. The glass features a 3D glass carving of all three sides of Mount Everest. It charges up with cold to chill your drink and evenly distributing it throughout the whiskey without watering down the beverage.
“We blended an aesthetically pleasing design that looks good and feels good in your hand with features to heighten the experience of drinking quality, flavourful whiskey,” says Nina Broon to Archipanic. The designer also created a crystal decanter featuring two sides of the world’s highest mountain, moulded onto its exterior.
Astronomical eclipses in the label
Italian design studio Spazio di Paolo has created astronomical-inspired and three-dimensional labels for the No Man’s Space spirits collection by Brand Breeder. The inspiration comes from “The ancestral space, interpreted as a physical space,” explain at Spazio di Paolo. “It is a symbol of freedom and overcoming one’s limits as well as men’s inspiration and mentor.”
The Eclipse Gin comes with a minimalistic and three-dimensional label. At the center is a black moon. By gently lifting a flap, the gold leaf layer underneath it creates a subtle glare radiating from behind the astronomical body, just like a solar eclipse. The No Man’s Space range also comprises The Comet Bitter and The Capricorn Vermouth Dry. Here, the zodiacal constellation shines across a black background. Two stars are embellished with gold leaf. By opening the label, you can enhance their glow.
5 mysterious poisons from China
According to Chinese traditions, the Five Poisons are the snake, scorpion, centipede, gecko, and toad – but also ancient herbal medicines that help expel extra humidity in the human body. The curative potions inspired the recipe of the new Chinese liquor brand WuDu, while the dangerous animals inspired its mysterious design created by Shenzhen Lingyun Creative Packaging Design Co.
“The totems of the beasts are printed on the packing box and sculptured on the container. The packing box resembles the drawer where traditional Chinese medicines are placed to emphasize the product’s pharmacological function.”
The Mediterranean sea, bottled
‘Mythology meets Mixology’ is the motto of Kástra Elión, a sipping Greek vodka distilled from selected Athenoelia olives and curated grains. “Because every vodka should be a religious experience!“
“We looked at Greek olive oil bottles for inspiration, ” say at Stranger & Stranger, a packaging design and branding company specialising in alcoholic drinks which created a white ceramic bottle with a smooth shape and graphic blue symbols and lettering.
