Architecure – At Dutch Design Week, Dutch studio i29 introduces the CÂPSULA, a design label for prefabricated luxury cabins designed around the values of Slow Living. “In a complex world, we advocate simplified and uncomplicated. Rich in bare essentials, these tiny architectures build on the promise of advanced design where less is more,” i29 told Archipanic.

There are three models to choose from: Soft Lodge, Writer’s Block Hut, and Tiny Holiday Home. The beautifully designed dwellings with a small footprint promote slow luxury and peace of mind.
During Dutch Design Week, the first two cabins mentioned above can be experienced in real life in the garden of DOMUSDELA [Kanaalstraat 4 binnenplein, Eindhoven, 11.00-18.00 Free entry – Map]. The Writer’s Block Hut also hosts a daily podcast with creatives who will expand on how their creative process thrives in relationship to space.

Seamlessly connecting the interior with the great outdoors from any viewpoint, Soft Lodge is about living large with less and reconnecting with nature, ourselves, and others. The striking glass facade and mirrored, angular design language with double-sided terraces seem to stand out from the natural landscape, only to blend in with the natural surroundings in a surprisingly organic way.
Sustainable materials, local production and innovative design solutions — mind the zip-on curtains on both sides for two optional extra indoor (bed)rooms — make this designer home reflect a surprisingly versatile take on luxurious tiny living.
What’s the minimum amount of space we need to thrive? The Writer’s Block Hut ignites your creativity in the name of well-being. Featuring ample windows and a minimalistic, meticulously designed interior, the tiny house “is a wink to anyone’s experienced state of sudden brain freeze.”
“This humble design shows how a modest dwelling can become an encouraging retreat if provided with the right design conditions.”
