Interior Design. In the heart of southeastern Sicily, where Baroque churches meet crystal-clear seas and sun-drenched olive groves, fashion designer Alessandro Enriquez has given a joyful look to Braccialieri, a new boutique resort nestled in the UNESCO-listed Val di Noto. His approach? A love letter to Sicily, infused with bold colours, artisanal touches, and an easygoing Mediterranean spirit.

Enriquez’s redesign of Braccialieri isn’t about flashy trends. It’s about slowing down and soaking in the beauty of the landscape. Drawing from his roots, the overall design combines “the love for my Sicily and the love for design,” explains Enriquez.

The boutique resort is the result of a two-year conservative restoration. The designer brought together heritage and hospitality in a refreshingly personal way. Think: handpicked furniture by Cassina, Vispring, Cappellini, Tom Dixon and Casa Lago—all selected for their love of colour and craftsmanship.

The resort is surrounded by ancient olive trees, and at its heart are three luxury suites that represent the perfect balance between history and modernity. Lighting designs by Davide Groppi add to the mood with his signature atmospheric touch, creating a sense of warmth and calm throughout.

Six ‘glamping’ ecovillas embody the sustainable vision of the place. Their carefully curated interiors feel both elegant and connected to nature, with airy interiors, spacious verandas, and sweeping views across the Val di Noto.

The communal spaces carry Enriquez’s vibrant flair as well. The Braccialieri Café, housed in a wrought-iron greenhouse draped with bougainvillaea, is pure Sicilian charm. Its colourful wallpaper, made in collaboration with Jannelli&Volpi, features traditional Sicilian sweets—an ode to nostalgia with a wink.

Just across the way, the 1863 winery-turned-restaurant, Dodici Zappe, blends history with contemporary design. Original stone walls and a restored millstone are paired with modern wooden tables and custom Cappellini chairs in a unique green shade created by Enriquez and Giulio Cappellini. It’s a space where stories are told over breakfast or dinner, surrounded by the spirit of the past and the flair of the present.

Even the pool area carries the signature Sicilian touch—with red-and-white checkerboard tiles inspired by traditional kitchens and parasols printed with Enriquez’s cheerful geranium motif. It’s a spot designed for lounging, laughter, and long, sun-soaked afternoons.
