After twiglight, Vang Gogh cycle route between Neuen and Brabant in the Netherlands begins to glow thanks to thousands of twinkling stones that create a magical pattern inspired by the famous painting Starry Night. Daan Roosegarde and Heijmans real estate development company developed special innovative paint able to gather solar power and release it after sunset in order to create a poetic luminous path.
The VAN GOGH-ROOSENGARDE bicycle path crosses a vibrant countryside linking Brabant -where the painter produced his first masterpiece, The Potato Eaters and the famous Opwettense and Colse watermills.
Daan Roosegaarde says: ‘I wanted to create a place that people will experience in a special way. Technical aspects are combined with experience, that’s what techno-poetry means to me’.
The unique cycle path show a way of combining innovation and design according to cultural heritage as well as modern tourism new demands.
