Every piece is a detached so that FLOAT can work as mobile set able to break barriers between both the kitchen and the living room but can also be integrated in open spaces and no longer obliges us to stare at the wall while cooking.
The kitchen island constitutes the main work area. Its removable drawers and trays provide access to utensil from both sides, thus making teamwork much easier.
The versatile cupboard is conceived to contain either High-Tech appliances or other objects, creating a self-sufficient kitchen that can be optionally completed with the rest of the pieces.
Disused traditional pieces like the glass cabinet and the serving cart bridge the gap between the kitchen and the living room.
The room divider helps delimitate without lifting actual barriers.
FLOAT is entirely crafted in Spain and made in metal, wood, copper and marble. The design set relinquishes all of the technological excesses and breaking with the rigidity prevailing in modern kitchens.

MUT’s creative spirit Alberto Sánchez says “to generate a landscape naturally and consciously integrated into the living room I wanted objects to work as a whole but I also wanted them to be independent, so ultimately the decision on how to combine them depends on the user”.
RELATED STORY: Insulaire. French design trio numéro111 re-thought the living room as bubble of intimacy instead of a ceremonial reception area for social representation
Mut Design is a Spanish studio founded by Alberto Sánchez and made up of a multidisciplinary team. It is also a publisher whose principles are based on emotional design. When Mut was created, the aim was to experiment and redefine the objects of daily use. This is the hallmark reflected in each project of this enterprising atelier.
MIRAS EDITIONS is the result of an impulse to create products with a strong self-identity above all. Design, functionality, harmony and quality are the distinctive features of the objects born under this new brand.
