Observing flat pack furniture, Israeli based designer Tehila Guy created an inflatable and solid armchair that challenges common upholstery without compromising comfort and aestetics.

A plastic inflatable body welcome the guest and allows to see through a wooden structure. The Anda armchair comes dismantled in a practical-to-ship flat pack, once at home it is easy to be assembled and light to move around the living room.

Tehila Guy says: “I started to research the world of inflatable furniture, which had its glory days in the 1960s, and it is considered today to be a cheap relic of its time with limited design”.

The air in the inflatable sit and back presses on the wooden structure connecting all the parts together, while the wooden base keeps the inflatable parts from collapsing while sitting.

The Anda armchair was designed for Tehila Guy final project in Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem, under the mentoring of professor Hanan De Lange.
