“Design for Good is food for thought on the importance of relationships and on our ability to share and exchange through culture and creativity,” 5Vie spokespeople Ernesta del Cogliano and Emanuele Tessarolo told Archipanic.”Design can become a tool for preserving and caring for deep human connections.”
From here, the design district has selected projects and produced exhibitions and installations by international designers and artists exploring themes like spirituality, connection with Nature, the bond with our roots and history, incommunicability, and the miracle of interconnection.
At 5Vie Headquarters via Cesare Correnti 14 [Map], Irthi Contemporary Crafts Council will present the exhibition Echoes of Alchemy, exploring the idea of the ‘recipe as a design concept’ which sparks an ongoing cultural dialogue between East and West and between craftsmanship and contemporary aesthetics.
Six prestigious interior design firms create intimate rooms within a 1930s apartment with products exclusively designed and made in Italy. The exhibition is presented by Artemest, the leading marketplace for Italian luxury craftsmanship.
At SIAM, via Santa Marta 18 [Map], Sara Bologna curates Prendete e Mangiate – Take and Eat -, a collective exhibition-event dedicated to the table, “a place for exchange and sharing, for building senses and identities, for dialogue between ourselves and others.” Around a long table set with art and design objects, visitors are invited to exchange food and words, nourishment for body and mind.
Also at SIAM, Sara Ricciardi celebrates interconnectedness with the HUMAN MANDALA installation featuring a series of real human bodies arranged in a circular mandala formation. Israeli designer Roham Shamekh presents Beyond Earth, a new collection of side tables and small lamps inspired by the solar system with paintings on small spherical objects.
Love Letters is an intimate exhibition by Anna Carnick for Anava Projects presenting never-before-seen pieces conceived by their creators as an expression of gratitude to people who have been significant to them. Via Santa Marta 14 [Map].
“Milan was and still is an important stage for creativity on an international level.” Conclude Ernesta del Cogliano and Emanuele Tessarolo. “After the past troubled years, in this edition of 5Vie, you can clearly breathe a creative buzz and a renewed will to start again. In our vision, design is a language able to connect people beyond borders and diversity by building common value.”
