The most influential architecture event runs until November 26 with exhibitions at Arsenale, Giardini and across the city. Yvonne Farrell and Shelly McNamara, founder of Grafton Architects and curators of Venice Biennale 2018 invited architects from around the world to tune with the FREESPACE theme exploring the power of architecture as a tool to improve the built environment through public spaces.
The curators’ exhibition features projects by 71 prominent studios including installations by leading female architects like Allison Brooks, Benedetta Tagliabue, Dorte Mandrup, Odile Decq and Jeanne Gang, as well as works by former Biennale curators Kazuyo Sejima, Aleandro Aravena and David Chipperfield. On show also 63 national pavilions from all the 5 continents. From Korea to Brazil, from Poland to Pakistan, Egypt, Canada and Australia.
